Sacrament of Baptism

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door that gives access to the other Sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the Sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.” [Catechism of the Catholic Church 1994 Reference: 1213]

Baptisms of infants are celebrated for families who are members of the Parish. Parents must be registered with the Parish and attending Mass six months prior to the Baptism and attend a preparation class before the Baptism can be celebrated. Appointments for the preparation session and Baptism need to be made with the Parish Office at (410) 956-2883.

Baptisms of school age children need to be arranged through our Religious Education Office within the Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) Program. Please contact Mrs. Pat Dixon at (410) 956-2883 for more information.

Baptisms of adults are arranged through our adult education program, within the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) Program. Contact the Parish Office at (410) 956-2883 for more information.
