Mariette Jeannine Carione, 80, and a resident of Edgewater for 60 years, died on October
25 at her home. She was born on March 23, 1930 in Sanford, Maine.
Mariette
be came a Registered Nurse after graduating from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Portland, Maine. She was a nurse at
a family care practice in Davidsonville before becoming employed by the State of Maryland at the Crownsville Hospital. She
was a member of various churches and organizations and held offices at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Edgewater. Her interests
included reading, shuffleboard, craft shows, and spending time with family and friends.
Mariette
was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Chialastri, in 1978, and by her second husband, Frank Carione; her parents
Charles Sr. and Alice Gallant of Sanford, Maine; and her brother Charles Gallant, Jr., of Florida.
She is survived by her sons Robert Chialastri of Ridgely and Thomas Chialastri of Plano, Texas; daughters Mariette
Bissett of Edgewater and Julie Chialastri of Copiague, New York; her brother Richard Gallant of Indiatlantic, Florida; sister-in-law
Dorothy Gallant of Childersburg, Alabama; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Arrangements made with the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, Inc., Annapolis. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady
of Perpetual Help, 515 Loch Haven Road, Edgewater, Maryland 21037, on Saturday, October 30, at 2 p.m.
